When John shows up for his first match, he waves good bye to his boyfriend and then gets a phone call from his worried boyfriend. He assures him that he'll be fine. "I'm gonna kick his ass and leave. Pick me up in 30 minutes," he assures his boyfriend. Of course, when he hangs up the phone, it's a different story as he tries to get out of there before his opponent shows up. Too late! Joe gets there just as John is trying to leave, and he heard John tell his boyfriend that he was gonna kick Joe's ass! John can't fight and doesn't even try.
