"Surprises" opens with a great match between Evan B and Shane. The match starts off very promising for young Evan, as he is able to get Shane's shirt up over his head, temporarily blinding Shane and allowing Evan to pound away on his helpless opponent. With the clear cut advantage, Evan goes to work on Shane and makes him pay dearly as he brings Shane to the brink of unconsciousness. Looking confident for the first time, Evan gets ready finish off Shane and win the match in record time, but his inexperience shows through and Shane is able to capitalize on Evan's mistakes. Shane has the experience to make Evan sorry that he made the mistake, and in no time at all, the roles are reversed, and Evan is now fighting to stay awake as Shane continues to attack.

Evan can only battle back for so long, and eventually ends up in the position that all HBWL wrestlers experience at one point or another... he is being choked out. Within a few seconds, Evan goes limp and falls helplessly onto his back with Shane ready to finish him off.

At one point, Evan wakes up and makes an attempt to get at his necklace (yes, the same necklace he used to put Brekon in a trance) but Shane is faster than Evan and quickly puts Evan back to sleep. Evan ends up spread out on the mat, still clutching the necklace that he hoped was going to turn the match back in his favor!

Evan wasn't waking up from this knockout, and as he was stripped and made hard by Shane, Evan continued to lay motionlessly on the mat as Shane had his way with him. Once he was naked, Shane slowly counted to 30, winning the match.
